February Show and Tell

Our theme for February was "Love".

Two of Marguerite's loves are her pets, Bailey and Wyllie.  Marguerite used photos of the dogs and digitized them.  She then used a computer program to machine embroider the photos on fabric.

Dave loves the outdoors.  He used a photo of the Mackinaw Bridge to machine embroider this block.

Mary used hearts for the challenge.  She made hot pads and coasters.

Linda also used a heart in her design.  She was inspired by indigenous Mexican art.  Linda used a piece of the art to draw her design and then machine applique it.

Following are other projects members have been working on.

Jane made this baby quilt for a friend.

Marguerite machine embroidered the Tawas Point Lighthouse.  She also had her machine applique parts of the picture.

Marguerite also made this 32 block machine embroidered
 Thomas Kincade wall quilt.

Dave made the following quilt for Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
The completed rail fence center was given to him by Joyce, a No Rules Quilter.
She also donated the fabric he used in the borders.

Mary made the following folded Christmas trees.

Mary has been frustrated by politics and finds sewing calming.
She made this wall quilt for her sewing room; the center words are a panel.

Kathy is working an English paper pieced quilt using Tulla Pink fabric.

Nancy is making a pinwheel baby quilt.

This is going to be the backing fabric.

Tam enhanced an orphan block.  She added the flowers and leaves in the center.
