November Show and Tell

 The group had no topic this month.  Member shared projects they have been working on.

Dave shared many projects he has completed.  Many of the quilts will be donated to  "Sleep in Heavenly Peace."   The group makes beds for children without beds and others donate quilts and bedding.

Dave designed this strip pieced fall tree.

Dave used an embroidery machine to make the birds in this quilt.  

The yellow lines were made using couched yarn.

Dave made this Light House Quilt using a panel, the red sections represented woven lines.

Dave also designed a camping theme quilt using a panel.

Another fabric panel quilt designed by Dave with a fish theme.

Dave used a winter scene panel and another panel, featuring

 winter wildlife, to make this quilt. 

Marguerite used an embroidery machine to make this gingerbread house.

Putting it all together took a lot more time than anticipated.  It could hold a tealight.

Marguerite used a Laura Heine pattern to make this Reindeer wall quilt.  The photo below shows some of the detail and the half inch quilting grid.  

Sue made this flannel throw for her husband which contains deer, bears and eagles.

Linda made these quilted postcards using fabric.

Quilted Items for the Habitat for Humanity Quilt Show and Silent Auction

We only had a few members show up for our September meeting.  The members who were present brought items for the Habitat Quilt Show and it's Buy-it-Now Booth.

Joyce brought this beautiful string quilt for the auction.

Joyce also made this table topper.

These hot pads were also made by Joyce.

This table runner, by Joyce, was created sewing strips together and then slicing them into rows.

Joyce also made all of these stilettos using colorful beads.  

Linda made all of these beautiful clothesline baskets for the Buy-it-Now Booth.

Mary made some coasters for the Buy-it-Now Booth.  The photo shows the front and back.  The worm has googly eyes.

July Show and Tell

 We had a small group at our meeting, so there are only a few items for Show & Tell.

The theme for July was "Freedom".

Wanda made two items for the theme.

One was an embellished jacket.  The designs were digitized on Wanda's embroidery machine.

Wanda also made a wall hanging for the challenge,

"Freedom to Have Fun".

Wanda also digitized this design.

Mary made a flag wall hanging for the challenge.

The following are other projects members completed recently.

Sue made the following quilts to be donated to the Habitat Quilt Show this fall.

Sue pieced this quilt row by row instead of making blocks.

This is a baby quilt Sue made.

Mary made a rag doll and doll quilt for part of a baby shower gift.

Wanda digitized the peacock appliques she use to embellish this jacket.

June Show & Tell

There was no topic for June, so members just shared projects they have been working on.

Marguerite finished her Partnership quilt.  The blocks contain foods that go together.  The quilt is going to be donated to "Sleep in Heavenly Peace", and organization which furnishes beds, bedding and quilts to children who have none.

Marguerite also made two patriotic quilts which will be donated to community helpers.

Wanda shared her quilt, "Cathedral Quilt 1".  It was an Alison Glass pattern.

Linda brought her Freedom Project due next month.  It is a work in progress.

Linda also shared some cotton clothes line projects, which she recently completed.

Mary demonstrated how she does flange binding on a quilt.

 

May No Rules Quilter's Show and Tell

 The theme for May was Partnership.  Some of the members have started the project.                  

Marguerite shared two Partnership blocks, which she plans to use in a child's quilt. The quilt will be given to a group which makes beds for children without beds.

Sue brought this applique block.  She is considering making it into a 

wall hanging to donate to the Habitat Quilt Show.

Mary made this quilt using a snowman panel.

Mary made another snowman quilt using the leftover fabric.

Mary made this baby quilt with bunny themed fabric

for the Habitat Quilt Show.

Joyce and her husband made this detailed quilt together.

They won Grand Prize in Quilts at the Saginaw County Fair for the quilt.

April Show and Tell

The following quilts were shared by the group's members.

Sue shared this Postage Stamp Quilt, which was made using about 

10 years of fabric from other quilts she had made.

Dave made two quilts using bird panels.  They both have purple sashing, but

the piano key borders use a different color scheme.

Jane made this cat quilt wall hanging using a pattern from a magazine.

Jane also made these two bug wall hangings for a magazine pattern.

This wonky patchwork quilt was made by Wanda.  

The quilt started with a wonky star made in a class.

This quilt was started by Jane's sister, Margaret in 2013.  It was recently

 passed to another sister, Beth, who completed the piecing.  Beth passed

 it to Jane, who quilted and will bind it.   The Three Sisters Quilt 

will then be returned to Margaret.
