March Show and Tell

The No Rules Quilter's didn't have a topic this month.

These are the projects the members shared.

 

Jane completed her "Dear Jane" quilt for her son.  She has been working on the quilt for 22 years.  Jane hand pieced her quilt using English Paper Piecing, there are 5779 pieces in the quilt top.

 

 

Each block is 4.5 inches.

 

The quilt was hand quilted by a quilter from Fairview.

 

The small triangles in the center star are amazing.

 

 

Mary completed wall hanging for another quilt group's challenge.  

The challenge involved using this fabric.

 

 

This is Mary's Haunted Halloween House.

 

 

 

Alice shared many projects she made using men's ties.

This is her woven pillow.

 

 

Alice also decorated the back of her jacket.

Alice used pet-screen to make this zipper bag.

 



 

This is Alice's St. Patrick's Day hot dish mat.

 

 

 

Joyce shared this recycled snowman quilt, made from a denim jumper.

 

 

 

Linda shared a colorful pieced scrap quilt.

February Show and Tell

The theme for February was "Self Portrait."

 

This is Tam's self portrait.

Terry used this photo to start her project.

 



Using watercolor paints, Terry painted herself on rag paper. 

She plans to thread paint it next.

Linda painted her portrait on white fabric.  The other

 items in the project are Linda's favorite things.

Julie shared the jacket she had completed since our last meeting.



 

The idea for the jacket came from Alabama Chanin's.

 

Jane completed her necktie quilt.

She used her husband's ties in the project.

December Show and Tell

Only a few members showed up for the December meeting.  There was no topic for December.

 

Terry shared a reversible apron she made for the holidays.

 

Terry also made this Santa panel door hanging.

 

 

This is Terry's basket theme project.  A woven basket for Christmas cards.

November Show and Tell

The theme for November was baskets.

 

Barbara made this basket with a cat.  The project was a Round Robin,

so after Barbara made the center, other quilters added the borders.

 

 

 

This is Linda's Flower Basket Quilt with pinwheels.

 

Linda used the pillowcase method when make the quilt.  She used flowers to cover the spot on the back where she turned the quilt.

 



 

 

 

Jane's "Balloon Fest" is her basket themed quilt.  Jane plans to add people to the baskets.

 

 

 

 

Mary made 4 hot pads using the basket theme.

 

 

 

 

Barbara brought a visitor who enjoys many crafts.  This is Nataliya showing

the group the lining of the coat she made.

Julie made this mini quilt with pumpkins and a mouse.

 

 

Julie made this winter scene to hang in her garage.

 

 

Julie made this red, white and blue star quilt.

 

 

Julie is working on this jacket.  She modified the method for making Alabama Chanin's tops

she saw Pinterest.  Her jacket is made from a sweatshirt and Julie stenciled the gray shapes. 

She is now  hand stitching around each figure.

Joyce made this fleece neck warmer.

 

 

Joyce showed the group a coin purse she purchased.  Joyce plans to use as inspiration

 to make more coin purses using felted wool.

 

 

 

Linda made this denim bag with 3D flowers using old jeans.

 

 

 

 

Tam made this squirrel mini quilt.

 

 

Tam hand quilted this whole cloth wall hanging.

 

Laurel Burch butterflies were the inspiration for Tam's quilt.

Mary also made this pumpkin decorated with buttons, beads and rhinestones.
