April Show and Tell

 In May, we have an "Ugly Fabric" challenge.  Marguerite brought in her project early.

This is her "ugly fabric."

Marguerite made a 3-D flower wall hanging on a black and white background.

Following is our regular April Show and Tell.

Marguerite created a stained-glass machine embroidery wall hanging.  Her designs were inspired by the windows in her church.

Marguerite used a satin column technique to design, and machine embroider this Puli dog. 

This is Bailey, Marguerite's dog.  She machine-embroidered him.

Marguerite and Dave are published in the Michigan Shop Hop Magazine.

The quilt, Moon Over Michigan, was designed by Dave.  The pattern was written by Marguerite and she made the quilt.

Dave has been making old barn quilt blocks using machine embroidery.

  

Dave is also working on a quilt from the perspective of being on the Mackinac Bridge.  He used piecing, applique and satin stitch.

This is the front and back of a baby quilt Nancy made for her new granddaughter.

Nancy made this smaller baby quilt from the scrapes.

Kathy made this colorful quilt-top using English paper piecing.

Mary made this pastel patchwork quilt, incorporating a panel.  The quilt is going to be donated to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Jane has been busy sewing for the Habitat for Humanity Auction this fall.

She made "Rural Yesteryear" placemats and table runner.

Jane also made a Christmas panel wall hanging with cards to match.

She also made this baby quilt with a bunny and carrots, with matching pillowcases (not in photo).

Jane created a bunny alphabet quilt with matching cards.

Using a variety of scraps, Jane made this colorful quilt.

Using fabric panels, she also made seed packet and Christmas cards.

Tam shared a Scrabble tote, which Jane had made her.

Tam made some two-sided birds for the Habitat for Humanity Auction.

Sue made a hand appliqued wool table mat.

Sue also made this pretty Mondo Bag.

Linda shared her framed applique.

March Show and Tell

 We had no theme for March.  Following are projects members shared. 

Dave designed two spirograph designs and added elements form other programs.   Below are his finished machine embroidery blocks.

Dave digitized this barn design for machine embroidery using a photo he took. 

This Max and Duke scrappy quilt was made by Dave, for "Sleep in Heavenly Peace."

Marguerite made this stained-glass window wall quilt/throw for her pastor.  She used a window in her church to design the pattern. The corner blocks were machine embroidered.

This was a "Block of the Month" quilt.  Marguerite made the applique quilt for "Sleep in Heavenly Peace." 

Nancy has been using I-Phoneography to electronically manipulate images she photographs.  Below is a project using red onions.

Below is a paste paper project.

Tam rescued an orphan block to make the following wall quilt.  The original block was black and white with line green background.

Jane made a quilted moose toaster cover for a friend.

Jane made a Hankie quilt for a friend. 

 

The hankies were cut in four before being made into blocks.

Jane also made a pillow cover to match the quilt.
