Quilts Made From Nontraditional Fabric

In December, the No Rules Quilters worked with nontraditional fabrics.

Tam made the quilt below.

Tam cut up a white bandana to make her wall hanging.

Joyce used upholstery fabric to make her block.

Wanda also used upholstery fabric in making her wall quilt.

Linda used denim and upholstery fabric to make a large tote bag.

Mary made a Christmas tree wall hanging for her back door.

It was embellished with hot fix rhinestones.

The member were the lucky recipients of sewing stilettos made by Joyce.
She used turkey lacers to make them.

Negative Space Quilts

In November the No Rules Quilters used "negative space" as our inspiration.
Below are some of the projects that were made by members.

Jane made a sign with our group's name.

Jane also made the following quilts, some in the past.

Barb made the two examples below.

Pat paper pieced this negative space project.

Zipper Quilts

The No Rule's Quilters decided to suggest themes for members to work with each month.
In October, our theme was using zippers in art quilts.

Jane used a 1940's pattern as her inspiration.  Her attention to detail encouraged me to
take numerous photos.

Wanda made the following quilt using zippers.

Wanda brought the finished quilt in December, her quilting was gorgeous.

Barb used an old sweater and a child's photo to make the following zipper quilt.

I didn't take a close up photo but hopefully you can see the neat details and dimension.

Linda used zippers on the lady's lips and eyes.

Linda's lady has hair made from tiny fabric scraps.
