Summertime

Our theme for July was "Summertime".  Since most of our Show & Tell this month involved other projects not involving the theme, the post is going to follow the order of Show & Tell rather than separating the summer themed items.

Jane shared two quilts she had done earlier using a summer theme.
The first is her Frog and Water Lily wall quilt.

This is a close up view of the frog and 3-D lily.

This is Jane's 3-D butterfly. (Some of the leaves and the flowers are also dimensional)

This fall The No Rules Quilters have been asked to make coffee and tea themed wall quilts to display in Dawn of a New Day, a coffee house and cafĂ© in downtown Saginaw.  To give the group some ideas, Jane showed the group a Sassafras Tea quilt she made for an earlier challenge.

Last month our theme was embellishments and we discussed fabric yoyos.  Wanda showed the group a variety of sizes of yoyo making tools.

This is Wanda's embellishment project, a tote bag with a red flower.

Wanda has been busy with her embroidery machine.  She decorated this tote bag.

Wanda also made this fringed throw/table cover using her embroidery machine.

This is the bird in the center block.

This is a skein of yarn Barb spun.  The wool came from her sheep.

Tam made this wall quilt with fish.  Linda painted the fish on the fabric.

This is the back of the quilt, the detail in the is wonderful.

Tam also made this Lone Star wall quilt, she added flowers on the white background.

Nancy designed this colorful appliqued wall quilt.
