April Show and Tell

The following quilts were shared by the group's members.

Sue shared this Postage Stamp Quilt, which was made using about
10 years of fabric from other quilts she had made.

Dave made two quilts using bird panels.  They both have purple sashing, but
the piano key borders use a different color scheme.

Jane made this cat quilt wall hanging using a pattern from a magazine.

Jane also made these two bug wall hangings for a magazine pattern.

This wonky patchwork quilt was made by Wanda.
The quilt started with a wonky star made in a class.

This quilt was started by Jane's sister, Margaret in 2013.  It was recently
passed to another sister, Beth, who completed the piecing.  Beth passed
it to Jane, who quilted and will bind it.   The Three Sisters Quilt
will then be returned to Margaret.

Fresh Start

The theme of the No Rules Quilter's challenge was the same as last month, " A Fresh Start."

Marguerite made the following digitized crocus for a future quilt.

"Spring flowers bring a fresh start."

This is Dave's "Fresh Start"

The quilt contains a lot of symbolism.  The red rose represents Christ.  The cross is made of wood and grain fabric.  The white fabric represents grace.  The bare trees on and pansies on the other side represent a new beginning.

The back of the quilt is stones which could represent the tomb.

Linda's "Fresh Start" is an applique pillow.

Below is Wanda's "Fresh Start".

Wanda quilted her wall quilt in light blue thread.

Members also shared other projects they had completed.

Mary had made a large colorful tote.

It had a zipper at the top and pockets inside.

Mary also shared an Easter bunny wall quilt.

Mary made this narrow wall hanging with a flange binding.

Joyce made a checkerboard patchwork table runner.

Joyce used 1.5 inch strips to make her blocks.

Wanda made this bright black background quilt using large blocks.

Wanda used a digitized pattern to make this embroidered Santa with reindeer.

The wall quilt is made up of many individual embroidered blocks.

Linda has been making rope fabric bowls.
