December Show and Tell

Only a few members showed up for the December meeting.  There was no topic for December.

 
Terry shared a reversible apron she made for the holidays.

This is Terry's basket theme project.  A woven basket for Christmas cards.

November Show and Tell

The theme for November was baskets.
 
Barbara made this basket with a cat.  The project was a Round Robin,
so after Barbara made the center, other quilters added the borders.
 
 
 
This is Linda's Flower Basket Quilt with pinwheels.
 

Linda used the pillowcase method when make the quilt.  She used flowers to cover the spot on the back where she turned the quilt.
 

 
 
 
Jane's "Balloon Fest" is her basket themed quilt.  Jane plans to add people to the baskets.
 
 
 
 
Mary made 4 hot pads using the basket theme.
 
 
 
 
Barbara brought a visitor who enjoys many crafts.  This is Nataliya showing
the group the lining of the coat she made.
 
 
Nataliya also shared these necklaces she made.
 


 
 
 
Members also shared other projects they have been working on.
 
Julie made this mini quilt with pumpkins and a mouse.
 
 
Julie made this winter scene to hang in her garage.
 
 
Julie made this red, white and blue star quilt.
 
 
Julie is working on this jacket.  She modified the method for making Alabama Chanin's tops
she saw Pinterest.  Her jacket is made from a sweatshirt and Julie stenciled the gray shapes. 
She is now  hand stitching around each figure.

Joyce showed the group a coin purse she purchased.  Joyce plans to use as inspiration
 to make more coin purses using felted wool.

October Show and Tell

There was no theme this month.
 
This throw-size quilt is Wanda's response to the September theme, "Inspired by a picture."   
Her inspiration was the squares in the pictured quilt. 
 

Every square is quilted differently.
 
 
Wanda also made this "Music" themed quilt.  The quilt is composed of  collected Row-by-Row blocks.  The quilt will be a gift for Wanda's musical daughter.
 



 
 
 
Tam designed this door quilt for Halloween.  The one-block applique quilt
features bats and pumpkins.
 
 
 
 
Karen will not be at the November meeting so she shared her "Baskets" themed project
 for next month.  Her one-block applique quilt features a basket of flowers.
 
 
Karen has bee working all summer on items to sell at craft shows.  She mad pot holders
that hold measuring spoons. 
 

 
Karen also made little clip-on carrying bags to hold cell phones,
glasses and other small items.
 


 
 
 
Barb made this large quilt top featuring a skeleton panel for her 12-year-old grandson,
who likes science.  All the fabrics are science themed.
 

 
 
 
Terry engineered this huge brightly colored bag so that the flower would end up on the front. 
Her daughter will use it to carry teaching supplies.
 
 
 
Joyce made trick-or-treat bags for her grandsons.
